- "Silent Spring" by Rachel Carson - A classic book on the destruction of wildlife through the widespread use of pesticides
- "No Logo" by Naomi Klein - Another classic, showing the struggle between corporate power and anti-corporate activism, including chapters on sweatshops, ads in schools and universities and case studies on some of the big corporates
- "The Wealth and Poverty of Nations" by David Landes - Discusses many of the roots of the current balance of power and worldwide inequalities. Contains great historic detail and yet highly readable
- "Captive State - the Corporate Takeover of Britain" by George Monbiot - Shows how corporations have seize control over much of Britain's public life, including hospitals, schools and universities as well as the many links between corporations and government
